Bin Jovi

It’s all the same, only the beers will change
Everyday, it seems we’re drinkin’ away
Another place where the beers are so cold
I sell drinks all night just to pay for my home..

I’m a beer man, on a pallet lift I ride
I’m working.. workiiiiin
Wanted dead or alive

Voyageur days i work, i work super long days
The people I greet.. always buying beer with their pays
Sometimes you tell the day
By the bottles that they drink
And times when you drop a case, the beer can really stiink

I’m a beer man, on a pallet lift I ride
I’m working.. workiiiiin
Beer store for liiiife!

Oh, and I ride

I’m a beer man, on a pallet lift I ride
I’m working.. workiiiiin
Beer store for liiiife!

I walk these coolers
An empty six-pack on my back
I cannot sleep, cause I might freeze stuck on my back
I ve sold them all, stubbies, as well as tall
I’ve seen a million empties
And I’ve stacked them all

I’m a beer man, on a pallet lift I ride
I’m working.. workiiiiin
Beer store for liiiife!
I’m a beer man, I got the empties on my side
I’m working (workiin) beer store for life!
All my time, beer store for life
I still drink (I still drink) beer store for life,
beer store for life, beer store for life, beer store for life, beer store for life!

Scotty Gee Radio Show Notes 12-07-19

Tonight’s show started out with the bane of my existence.  The dreaded technical difficulties.  After a few songs where nobody could hear me but could hear the music (maybe for the best?), I took a short break, rejigged some settings, and the show then went off without a hitch.

We did our usual segments, Born to Die, where I go through the list of famous birthdays and deaths on this day, as well as What Stupid Day is It, where I talk about whatever crazy “National ____ Day” it is today.

Born to Die

Birthdays
1761 Marie Tussaud, French founder of Madame Tussaud’s wax museum, born in Strasbourg (d. 1850)
1942 Harry Chapin, American rock vocalist (Taxi, Cat’s in the Cradle), born in New York City, New York
1947 Johnny Bench, American MLB catcher (Reds), born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
1949 Tom Waits, American rocker and songwriter (Blue Valentine), born in Pomona, California
1956 Larry Bird, American Basketball Hall of Fame forward, coach, executive (Boston Celtics 3-time NBA champion, 12-time NBA All Star), born in West Baden, Indiana
1958 “Ravishing” Rick Rude, American professional wrestler, born in St. Peter, Minnesota (d. 1999)
1969 Patrice O’Neal, American stand-up comedian, born in Boston (d. 2011)
1972 ‘Sunny’ Tammy Lynn Sytch, American professional wrestler (WWF), born in Matawan, New Jersey
1973 Terrell Owens, American football wide receiver (San Francisco 49ers), born in Alexander City, Alabama

Deaths

2011 Harry Morgan, American actor (M*A*S*H, Dragnet), dies in his sleep at 96
2016 Greg Lake, English rock vocalist and bassist (King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer), dies of cancer at 69

What Stupid Day Is It?

Scotty Gee Radio Show Notes 12/04/19

The first Scotty Gee Radio morning show was today, with a different contest and a new way to track which songs were played.  I decided to pay for a monthly subscription with autopo.st, which automatically posts the “Now Playing” track from Live365 to Twitter.  It is my hope that this will add help me to get some new likes, retweets, and followers with the end goal of increasing my audience.  It’s early days, but I did get a few retweets, likes, and a couple of new followers out of it, so early signs are good that it will help with engagement.  Other than a couple of artists’ pictures being incorrect, it worked quite well!

A new game was played today, based on Rockbusters from Ricky Gervais, Steve Merchant, and Karl Pilkington on XFM (although hopefully, the clues made more sense than Karl’s often did).  I gave a clue for three bands or artists that I was going to play during the show and anyone that could get the right answers would be entered into a draw for Scotty Gee Radio merch.  I’ll give the clue below and then the answers after the playlist.

The clues were:

My mouth is kind of on fire.
That commotion isn’t very loud.
That chicken makes a little noise.

And now, for the list of songs played during today’s show.

  1. Two Hundred Grand – Sunshine – (Two Hundred Grand)
  2. Chapel Song – We Are Augustines – (Rise Ye Sunken Ships)
  3. Starry Eyes – The Records – (Smashes, Crashes, and Near Misses)
  4. Blitzkrieg Bop – Ramones – (Ramones)
  5. Hyacinth House – The Doors – (L.A. Woman)
  6. Closer – Nightmarathons – (Missing Parts)
  7. I Fought the Law – Dead Kennedys – (Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death)
  8. Anarchy in the U.K. – Sex Pistols – (Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols)
  9. The Wild and the Young – Quiet Riot – (QR III)
  10. Porno and Snuff Films – The Lawrence Arms – (Apathy and Exhaustion)
  11. Girl from the North Country – Bob Dylan – (The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan)
  12. Sail On – The Mountain Goats – (Bitter Melon Farm)
  13. Poor Girl – X – (More Fun In the New World)
  14. I’m Your Broken Dog – The Bones of J.R. Jones – (Spirit’sFurnace)

Scotty Gee Radio Notes for 11/23

The first-ever Scotty Gee Radio Show was on Saturday, November 23rd.  In case you missed it, here are the show notes.

The show amazingly started on time and without technical difficulties which have become part and parcel of The Scotty Gee Show on Youtube.  I started off announcing the “Stitch-Up” contest where I gave a phrase made up of words from the various song titles that I was going to be playing during the show.  Anyone that could give me all six song titles would be entered to win a Scotty Gee Radio t-shirt.  The phrase was “Wanna Mention The Most Painful Porno”  You can find the answer and the winners after the list of songs that were played during the show.

I announced the various ways that you could support Scotty Gee Radio with the preferred way is to become a monthly subscriber.  Even 10 subscribers at $5 per month would go a long way to offsetting the costs involved in putting on the show.  Here is the cost breakdown.

Live 365 Service – $80
Music (20ish songs per show) – $25.80 per show

I truly enjoyed doing the show, and it was nice to come full circle and finally make something of that one semester (thereabouts) that I spent at Canadore doing radio broadcasting, but I cannot spend over $100/month for the privilege.  Any support that you can give is appreciated.  I’m not being facetious when I say that I put on the shows that I do to entertain you.

Now here is the list of songs that I played on Saturday.  (Song title, Band/Artist, Album)

  1. I Wanna Be Sedated – Ramones – Road to Ruin
  2. Blitzkrieg Bop – Ramones – Ramones
